Thursday Book Recommendation
These are books I’ve read and really enjoyed. Most of what I talk about will probably be paranormal/scifi but not always. Although it’s rare, I do read some contemporary.
This week is: Monsters
within Men: An MM Post-Apocalyptic Romance by TJ Rose
Blurb:
London, 2053. One of the last remaining civilisations in the world.
A
decade on from the first wave of human-flesh-craving monsters that wiped out
most of society, Noah finds himself stepping up to lead Squad E, part of
London’s East Regiment, fighting back against the creatures that threaten
mankind. But between battling monsters, struggling with grief, and his rivalry
with another lieutenant, Noah is sinking, fast. The last thing he needs is a
young, weak conscript with an attitude problem to add to his issues. Especially
when he can’t seem to get him out of his head.
Zeke, Squad E’s newest recruit, would rather do anything else than be conscripted into the dwindling military force battling to save humanity. But when his research assistant job abruptly ends after his boss is arrested under mysterious circumstances, he must learn to embrace his new life as a soldier. But perhaps his attractive commanding officer—whom he is forbidden from dating—might offer the silver lining he never knew he wanted?
As
the crisis escalates, London’s time begins to run out. Food shortages, riots,
and secrets buried by leadership all push the city towards its boiling point.
The ten members of Squad E, along with their faithful dog, Wolf, must band
together if they’re going to make it out of this alive.
Monsters within Men is a slow burn, post-apocalyptic fantasy MM romance, suitable for adult readers. It is a standalone book of around 110k words.
Content
warnings: explicit sexual scenes, grief, self-harm, non-graphically described
suicide attempts, on-page death of side characters, mild gore

Teaser Tuesday
“Pissed, then, and that’s very understandable.”
Great. Now Connie was speaking to Kit like he was some sort
of wild animal—all soft voice and wary like they might frighten him into
running. Hudson might be a king, but Kit could queen out with the best of them,
and he was about ready to get his bitch on.
“But give us a chance to explain,” Connie finished. “And
coffee. We’re going to need coffee. Lots of coffee.”
“Fine.” Kit stomped into the living area and sat down while
Hudson and Connie made themselves something to drink.
“Would you like me to freshen yours?” Hudson asked,
approaching Kit cautiously.
“I’m good but thanks,” Kit answered, glaring.
A few minutes later both of them sat on the couch across
from Kit. If he wasn’t so mad at everyone in general, he’d feel bad. Hudson
looked worried, and Connie was flat out green.

Thursday Book Recommendation
These are books I’ve read and really enjoyed. Most of what I talk about will probably be paranormal/scifi but not always. Although it’s rare, I do read some contemporary.
This week is: Don't Let Me Go: A Dark MM Sci-Fi Mafia Romance by Chani Lynn Feener
Blurb:
Hunter
Thorn did the unthinkable.
He's fallen for the enemy. He may have told himself he did it to survive, but
there's no denying the chemistry between him and Odin, even if they're still on
uneven ground. When someone from his past returns, everything he thought he
knew is thrown to the wind, and he's forced to finally come to grips with his
feelings and make a decision.
Odin Snow captured the Huntsman and made him his.
But when Hunter goes missing, all of Odin's carefully laid plans are dashed.
Was their time together truly long enough to bind Hunter to him, or was his
Huntsman merely biding his time to escape? Trust doesn't come easily for the
head of a Brumal mafia family, but in the end, Odin only has two choices. Trust
Hunter and keep him. Or let those old suspicions bloom and lose him forever.
*Trigger Warnings: This is the third and final installment in the A Whisper
in the Dark trilogy, a Dark MM Sci-Fi Mafia Romance, which features a super
possessive mafia leader and the man from his past he's always wanted. There are
dark themes in this book that aren't suitable for all readers, including but
not limited to, dubcon, torture, drugs, violence, and explicit sexual scenes.
HEA guaranteed.

“Pissed is the term you’re looking for,” Kit snapped.
What was worse than pissed? Because he was there. Oh boy
was he there. How dare they hide this? How fucking dare they. Didn’t
they think this was something he needed to know? It only affected his damn life
after all. Kit was a human. They were dragons. They weren’t even the same
species!
Reading about fated mates in paranormal romances was one
thing. Nothing was hotter than a snarly bad boy who was all protective and
shit. Getting slapped in the face with it was something else entirely. And he
had two of them—mates, that was.
Did they think his little human brain couldn’t handle it?
Were they trying to—and hear him out here—protect him? Clue him in gently so he
wouldn’t worry his pretty little head?
Oh, hell no. He was not some damsel in distress. This was
one time he wished he was a paranormal so he could flash some fang and
do a snarly growl at them.
Instead all he could do was grit his very human teeth and
not shake them silly. Not to mention, getting his ass yanked into some weird
vision thingy by a deity was not helping his mood either.
