Manga & Romance Blog Hop

Hey guys! Over this weekend the Manga and Romance Blog Hop will be taking place. I’m really excited to be taking part in this hop. To hop from one blog to another use the highlighted link above.

 * * * *

I found yaoi a couple of years ago, but really didn't know what I had found. I don’t know much about it, but what little bit I do know, I enjoy. Now, gay romance I know lol. Frankly, I love reading and writing about M/M. The hotter the story, the better lol. When I found the genre several years ago I fell in love and, as they say, the rest was history.

I ran across a site called Literotica.com and stumbled across all the different sections they offered. On a whim I clicked to Gay Male. Oh my God, what rock had I been hiding under all these years??? The first author I read knocked my socks off. She was great, and some of you my know her—Pelaam. Then I went exploring and what a gold mine I had found.
After reading for a while I had to try my hand at writing a gay male love story. Which I did at Literotica. Okay, so I didn't have a clue what I had gotten myself into lol. Writing was SO much harder than I though. There was so much I didn't know! Well I learned, made mistakes, and learned some more. I made a bunch of friends, practiced writing, got good feedback, and still learn more lol.

During my first story on Literotica called Darkness Awaits, I found I really *liked* writing nonhuman. I focused on that for a while, then got a wild hair and wrote Priceless for a Valentine Day's contest at Literotica. Well, I didn't place, but know what? I liked writing about two normal guys just as much lol. Of course Cupid had something to say about me writing nonhuman for long, the imp.

After a while I took the plunge. I gathered up my nerve and published something. Thank God I stumbled across Literotica!

What you wrote about getting into m/m romance struck a nerve in me because that is more or less how I fell into it too. I have been writing stories since I was a teenager, mostly for myself, but I wanted to know if I was any good. So I was looking at self-publishing websites, and Literotica popped up. I thought it was worth a shot, and I started off with m/f stuff and sort of drifted into m/m.

I like m/m because I think men can show a wider range of emotion than most women in stories do. Weakness and need are not 'girlie' if done right. However, if you write the role of a very strong woman in romance, she tends to come off as a bitch whether you want her to or not. And face it, I'd much rather stare at a great-looking man with a hot body all day than a woman.

  4. Hi I'm a new member to the blog so I'm not yet use to it.
By the way my email is maria_lhaine@yahoo.com

I really like Yaoi 'coz it becomes my outlet when I'm depressed so that's why you're one of my favorite author and I can't wait for your other stories. My sister also really loves your stories. She is the one who intro-seduced me into YAOI world... :D

At first I don't like it but when I red Love Mode, I became addicted. Now, me and my sister always buy the manga paperbacks and the novels like Love Mode, Junjou Romantica, Blue Sheep Reverie... but if I've don't have any money I use to download them in the site... Most yaoi mangas ate my space in the hard disk... YAOI RULEZ!!!~ :D

  6. In a way you were my Pelaam I floated around lit reading random stories (for a long time I stuck with the "new" section so I didn't have to commit to a genera and I found your story "the Harvest" and never looked back, though I do miss it sometimes :) and I recently tried my had at writing m/m and it is difficult to write! But then again writing in itself is difficult.

Anyway I follow your blog and my email is lillywriting@gmail.com

  9. I love yaoi after I discovered it a couple of years ago. I still read it today, I'm collecting the books (they're expensive as hell, but I buy them anyway). I love the images, but also the stories. They can be funny, heartbreaking, and romantic. They can also drive me up the walls with the stubbornness, hehe.

I went from there to reading a couple of m/m romances before I wrote my own and as of January this year, I'm an m/m erotic romance author :)

  11. So, I just joined your blog (oops, meant to do that months ago...) :)

The thing that I love most about M/M romance is that the characters feel. I know that sounds weird, but they truly do. They (normally) don't care about what society dictates they should feel, how they should act, where they should go - they only do what they feel that they should. What they believe to be best for them and their partners, and this is something that I find a lot of M/F romances are missing - the tossing of societal concepts and do just what is right for you.

    1. I agree totally. I think you summed it up perfectly. Lord knows I've been trying to for a while when asked why I write M/M lol.

Welcome and thanks for joining! *Grin* if you've stopped by before then you probably already know what a nut I am lol.

  12. I think the MCs in m/m stories have more flexibility in their roles and in their interactions, so the stories are more varied than in m/f stories. Also as a female, I enjoy reading about two hot gorgeous males. From Literotica, I found your wonderful stories along with Pelaam, Night Tempest and Talismania.
Have been following you by favorites but will subscribe by email.

  13. I'm a new GFC follower (as Emily) and I love both manga and m/m. My friend claims that I like m/m because I'm a bit of a rebel and since m/m isn't considered a "proper" genre, I rebel by liking it. She's also a psychologist and analyzes everything. But truthfully, I just enjoy m/m best. I got into manga at a young age, followed by yaoi, then fanfiction, then m/m. I've always been open minded and I love the unusual or the interesting. And to me, that's m/m romance. It's not something you'd necessarily see daily and it strikes a cord in me. I can't explain much better than that.

    Anyways, thanks for participating!!

  14. I'm a new follower. :)

Love Literotica! I found the site while trying to help someone find a story they'd read once. Gotta love google!

I like M/M romance because I can satisfy my desire for steamy romance without being jealous that it's something I wish I had. Not a guy, so not a problem there! LOL!
