Today I have one of my favorite authors visiting: Kim Dare. Yes, lol, I'm a big fan. I love her BDSM books and own several. If you like BDSM (and she does both human and nonhuman) you really should check her out. For today, she's here to talk about her new release Vanilla Licks.
*Rubs hands together* Oh... and did I mention there's a giveaway too?! :)
Hi Everyone!
Thank you to Michelle for making me so
welcome on her blog and giving me the chance to chat about my latest release
from Resplendence Publishing—Vanilla Licks.
And, to thank you for joining us, I’m
giving away two free copies of an e-book from my backlist or coming soon list.
More details about the book and the giveaway are at the end of the post.
Bare Bum Bay
Picture a luxury beach-front resort.
The sun is shining. The waves are rolling in. Golden sand. Blue seas. A gentle
breeze.
Imagine men – handsome, happy and
wearing very little clothing. They’re laughing and joking with each other,
enjoying the heat of the sun on their bodies and checking each other out.
They’ve all come to this holiday destination to be surrounded by men who
appreciate other men. Most of them are kinky, all of them are horny.
It’s more than likely you haven’t put
it in the same place I did when I sat down to write my Sun, Sea and Submission
series.
Pendragon Bay is located in south
Wales. (That’s next door to England and part of the UK,
in case you’re wondering.)
Since it’s my version of Wales, I’m
allowing myself a good slice of artistic licence and setting the stories during
the hottest summer on record.
We have lovely beaches here. And
occasionally the weather really is quite pleasant. Honest!
More importantly, I grew up here and
while, to my knowledge, there isn’t a luxury, kinky, gay resort around here, I
do have some wonderful memories of hot summers on the beach.
There’s one beach in particular, an
unofficial nudist beach that naturists have been using for years, which is
affectionately called Bare Bum Bay.
That’s the beach I picture when I’m
writing this series.
The newest instalment was so much fun
to write. I can just imagine the characters walking along paths I’ve travelled
along ever since I was old enough to walk.
There’s a little bit of Penarth in
there, some influence of Porthcawl, a touch of Barry Island snuck in too. I
know those place names probably don’t mean anything to you, but they’re all
close to my heart.
So, if you choose to take a peek
inside the series, you might like to think more about a British beach than a
palm tree laden tropical island. On the other hand, you might not like to do
that at all. If you want to transplant the guys to your fantasy sea shore,
that’s cool too.
And, whatever geography does to them,
you can count upon it that Fulton and Darrell will still be the same guys.
Darrell will still work in an ice
cream parlour called Vanilla Licks. He’ll still be a shameless flirt who likes
to joke about leather, but who’s never tried it for real.
Fulton will still come to Pendragon
Bay to give a whole series of master classes on various kinks. He’ll still be
stern, dominant and hard-core enough to scare away most guys.
And, they’ll still have to find a way
through the process of getting together, getting kinky and finding their own
idiosyncratic happy ending.
I’d love it if you’d join them for the
ride.
Here’s the blurb for Vanilla Licks:
Situated
just along the beach from Pendragon Bay Hotel, Vanilla Licks is the most
popular ice cream shop for miles. Its success is at least partly down to
Darrell—the cute guy who works behind the counter and flirts shamelessly with
all the customers.
Fulton’s
an experience dom visiting the hotel to give a series of master classes on a
whole host of kinky topics. Fulton doesn’t flirt. On the rare occasions that he
speaks at all, it’s to give orders—which he expects to be obeyed. When Darrell
catches his eye at the ice cream shop, vanilla is the last flavor on either of
their minds.
Darrell
is very good at joking about not being vanilla, but can he deal with a dominant
who takes his BDSM seriously?
Leave a
comment on this post by Sunday 16th February and you’ll be entered
into the hat for a chance to win two of my backlist or coming soon titles. One winner
will be chosen at random to receive two e-books of their choice. The only book
you won’t be able to pick is Vanilla Licks.
About Kim
Dare:
Kim Dare is
a twenty-nine year old, full time writer from Wales (UK). First published in
2008, she has since released close to eighty BDSM erotic romance titles. While
most of Kim’s stories follow male/male relationships, she also writes about
characters that enjoy male/female, female/male (female dominant), female/female
and all kinds of mĂ©nage relationships. Kim’s titles have included contemporary
stories, fairytale re-tellings, vampires, time travelers, werewolves and
werelions—not to mention the occasional wereduck.
Regardless
of the gender of her characters or the different genres they inhabit, from
short stories to full-length novels, there are three things Kim always wants to
give her characters—kink, love, and a happy ending.

Sounds like a really good read. Please count me in thank you.

Sounds very... Interesting! I wonder of Fulton will be able to keep up his dom face while Darrell is flirting with him...

I'll be the first to admit that my experience with BDSM is extremely limited. Um, no, not doing, reading. I've read the first two Fifty Shades books but I consider those to be romance more than BDSM. And I've read Michelle, who is awesome. And I know she thinks you're awesome. And I have to admit I like the premise of what you've set up. I'm definitely going to put you on my tbr list.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you, Kim, and you're welcome to visit my blog any time.
