Hi everyone! My name is Rob Colton and I’m here to talk
about my upcoming novella, An American
Lamb in Europe. The book is coming out Wednesday, February 12th.
First, I want to thank M. A. Church for hosting me today.
The book is actually dedicated to her, because without her help, the book
wouldn’t be what it is today.
Her encouragement was what inspired me to first submit my
work for publishing. She answered all my newbie questions, and gave me advice
that was simply invaluable.
To celebrate the release, I’m giving away a copy of the An American Lamb in Europe ebook to one
of M’s readers. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post between now
and Wednesday, February 12 at midnight EST. A winner will be chosen by random.
Be sure to leave your email address so that I can contact you if you win!

Jamie Anderson knows you need to look before you leap, but
he forgets it often enough to land in trouble. When his brother and only
remaining family member disappears, he doesn’t think twice about quitting his
job as a dental hygienist to travel to the Czech Republic to search for him.
Rescued by the sexy, mysterious Tomas in a small city near
the German border, Jamie enlists his help in locating Rudy. Soon Jamie realizes
the man knows more than he’s sharing. When Jamie demands Tomas tell him the
truth, Tomas reveals he’s a vampire. Horrified the man he’s fantasized about is
a monster, Jamie struggles with the fact he still needs Tomas's help to find
Rudy.
Jamie never expects their search will land him in the middle
of a vampire turf war.
Excerpt:
I pushed what
was left of my lunch around with my fork while I stared out the window. It
wasn’t that the food wasn’t good, I just had no appetite.
The little town
square was bustling with people of all ages. It was quite quaint and charming
in the daytime. I couldn’t help but wonder if they had any idea what kind of
creatures lurked around their streets under the cover of night.
Like lambs
to the slaughter.
I let out a
snort of unamused laughter and then a long sigh.
I now knew what
happened to Rudy. Well, kind of. He was a blood donor, a “lamb” as Tomas called
them. I couldn’t believe that my brother might be dead, all in the name of some
kind of vampire turf war.
Was that enough
to satisfy me? Did I really need to know more?
Maybe I should
take Tomas’s advice: book a flight and go home. Get away from this old-world
town from hell. But even as I sat there staring at the townspeople below, I
knew I wasn’t finished. I had to know exactly what they did to my brother. If
he was dead, I needed to make sure he was properly put to rest.
Oh God, what if
he came back from the grave? Would I have to chop his head off and burn his
body to save his immortal soul? The thought sent a violent shudder through my
body. There was no way in hell that I could do that, so I prayed to anyone who
would listen Rudy would not need me to go all Van Helsing on him.
I had made up
my mind. Now that I’d come this far, I was not going to give up. I had to know
for sure. There was no turning back. Besides, what did I have to go back to? A
lonely apartment and a boring job? With Rudy out of the country, I wouldn’t
even have the distraction of him coming and going, messing up my life. But Rudy
wasn’t gone. I was going to find him.
I just needed a
plan.
First, I needed
to find the gang who took Rudy and get some answers. Second, I needed to do
that without getting sucked dry.
Right. Easy
as pie.
Speaking of
getting sucked dry….
I closed my
eyes as I thought of Tomas’s visit the night before. Remembering the feel of
his amazing hand, my cock stiffened in my pants, and I reached down and palmed
it through my jeans. Damn, that felt good. Biting back a moan, I squeezed the
base of my dick to keep from blasting come into my underwear.
Leaning my head
back, I stared up at the cracked ceiling. God, I wanted him. I didn’t want to,
but I did. But just because I wanted it, didn’t mean I had to act on it. He was
a freaking vampire for God’s sake, the walking dead, a bloodsucking
killer. There was no way in hell I should be remotely entertaining the idea of
even seeing him again, let alone having sex with him.
