Bryan, a simple country sheriff, is ready to shoot someone and hide the body. One particular homophobic FBI agent is really pressing his buttons. Along with that he finds himself in the middle of an FBI investigation revolving around a recent UFO crash landing, is questioned about a missing friend targeted by the FBI, and makes first contact with the very alien the FBI is hunting.

Daroshi, Ma’Rairan warrior, has fulfilled his obligation to his species, and is ready to mate. As second in command he monitored the rescue of his captain who crashed on Earth while collecting his mate, and witnessed the confrontation between a country sheriff name Bryan and his captain. Impressed by how courageously the brawny human male handled meeting a fully armed alien warrior, Daroshi asks permission to take Bryan as a mate.

Neither male is ready for the problems that come with Daroshi’s decision, nor the passion that explodes between them.

Ziang and Daroshi transported down into Bryan’s backyard. The night was pitch black, the moon hid behind layers of fluffy clouds. Branches in the trees danced soothingly to gentle breezes. An abundance of shrubs moved silently in the quietly swirling wind. Bryan’s small house was set away from the main road and deep in the woods, alone and isolated. Much like the owner.

“Interesting set-up he has.” Daroshi looked around. “Bit cut off, though.”

“That’s good for us. The last thing we need is more attention, and that FBI agent showing up,” Ziang said. “I want this to go clean and fast.”

“True. Of course, if he did show up, we could give him to Haya.”

“I don’t like the human, but I wouldn’t do that to my worst enemy.” Ziang tapped the communications device on his wrist, loading in their landing coordinates. “Since Bryan is a law enforcement officer, set your weapon to low stun, just in case.”

“Ziang, I don’t want to stun him if it can be avoided.”

“Neither do I, but Shawn’s words keep replaying in my head. Most bullets won’t hurt us, but then, Bryan isn’t most humans. I’m sure he has other weapons in his house that could be dangerous.”

“But their weapons are so primitive.”

“That may be, but primitive can wound just as easily as advanced. Set your stunner to low, and use only if needed.”

“Yes, sir.”

“I’ll distract him, and you unarm him, if necessary. I know you don’t want me touching him.”

“No more than you’d want my hands on Shawn.”

“Understood. And no, I wouldn’t.”

“Should we activate our invisibility?”

“No, it’s dark enough. If we just appear, we may scare him even more.”

They crept around the house, moving carefully though the darkness. Both activated their face shields for night vision. They blended with the night, silent hunters that became one with the darkness and shadows; predators with a mission. The prey was inside, unaware of what was closing in on him. Ziang opened his wrist weapon and pinpointed Bryan in the house by his body heat. He motioned for Daroshi to follow him to the back of the house. They’d enter through the back door in the kitchen. As they passed the open window, Daroshi came to a stop when he heard Bryan’s comment about his hand and a big red dildo.

His body came alive and his tentacles jerked against his back. A low growl of desire slipped out. Ziang immediately sliced his hand through the air, calling for silence. Daroshi couldn’t help himself; the very image of Bryan working a dildo up his ass inflamed him and sent his desire for the human spinning out of control. Daroshi respected this human’s bravery and his dedication to an often thankless job, but now there was more. He could scent Bryan’s arousal. The scent was unlike anything he’d ever smelled, sharp and musky. From the depths of his soul the word mine exploded in his head. He wanted Bryan with a passion he hadn’t felt, ever, and he’d do whatever it took to ease him into his new life.

In his excitement, he made a rookie mistake. As he passed the window, he didn’t bend down low enough to conceal himself.

* * * *

Bryan sat at the table, waiting for the cookies to bake, when he heard a low growl, quickly smothered, outside the window. He’d heard something very similar, and not long ago. It wasn’t a sound he’d ever forget. Every hair on his body stood up, adrenaline spiked, and his heart kicked into high gear. A cold flush spread though his body. From the corner of his eye, he caught the blurry shape of something moving under the window. He glanced at the back door and his stomach cramped. It was unlocked. There was no way he could lock it before the intruder busted through. And if he was right, and what was out there was what he thought it was, a wood door wasn’t going to stop it. Plus, the window was open.

Calmly he stood and reached for the drawer by the stove. His off-duty weapon was stored there. He grabbed the taser, too. Why was the alien back and sneaking around his house? If it was the alien that Shawn left with, why not just show itself? He’d seen it before, so why act like this? He’d seen lights in the nighttime sky shortly after Shawn left with his alien, but he assumed they were monitoring the situation, to make sure all was okay before they left. It never crossed his mind they were watching him. Why would they be watching him? Another unsettling thought hit Bryan. Had something bad happened to Shawn? If that was Shawn’s alien, and he wasn’t sure it was, had it returned to let him know? But that was silly; he couldn’t communicate with it like Shawn could.

What the hell was going on?

The handle on the back door turned slowly. Bryan tried to slow his breathing; he was sucking air and that wasn’t good. The door eased opened, an inch at a time. He held his ground as the door opened and he found himself staring at a seven and half foot alien… again.

~If you're interested in the first book in the series, Nighttime Wishes, here are the buy links:

  1. wahh new release nice :D i'm in the city so UFO siting may be rare so i have not seen anything but strange things have happened :D congrats!!! :3

  2. I have never seen something that can't be explained with earth sience. But earth has some things that are so foreign that they can be UFO's in my book.
    Jana from Germany

  3. Have I ever seen a UFO? *snort* I wish.

    1. Also, the guy on the cover? Totally hot.

  4. I don't think id want to see a UFO or an alien unless they were actually like Ziang or in Cias stories with Seral. I would totally want to be abducted it they turned out that hot!! Whoohoo! But regretfully nope on the sightings so far.

  5. I lived in the southern UFO capital (self-proclaimed) when I was tiny. I never personally saw a UFO, but I remember watching the news with my dad once, and there was a local farmer on, and I remember him saying, "Well, I didn't see it, but my dog did." I thought that was the funniest thing. :)

  6. I envy those of you who live away from the ground light that stops anyone near me from seeing more than a handful of stars in the sky. I love being places where I can look up and see endless stars and it isn't often I get to be in one. In Lake George, many years ago, we had some really clear nights and laid out at night looking for shooting stars, of which there were surprisingly, alot of. There was something else...they looked like a star moving slowly through the sky. Something that looked like a star and was around the stars, so not anything man-made, as in planes. The kid I was with said they were satelites, but there were several of them. HOw many satelites would we have in one spot? Each one steadily moved across the night sky...who knows? I just know that we can't be it in this endless universe we live in. As long as they aren't out to hurt us or do tests on us, I'd be up for meeting another life form. :)
can't wait to check this out!!! Sounds great!

  7. I've seen two, well I think I've seen two, lol. The first was driving home from work, the sun had just set, and above the trees to my left was a ball of green light about two foot across keeping pace with my car. It scared the crap out of me as it was only a few hundred meters away. Needless to say I didn't do the speed limit to get home. I was 17 at the time, now I wish I'd gone looking for it.
The other one was in my early 30's and sitting on the trampoline late one night, stargazing, was what I thought was a satellite. Only this one had headlights!! I turned to call my friend out to look too, but it by the time she got there it had gone.

  8. No I have never seen a UFO, much to my dissapointment.

  9. I've never seen a UFO. But I did glimpse something that could have been the Loch Ness Monster once. Does that count? ;)

  10. I don't think I've seen a UFO but i seen some pretty weird things.

  11. Hi,
I live in South Australia in the city so not much chance to see UFO's. That said several times when camping out bush I have seen some interesting things in the night sky that don't quite fit the profile of stars, soooo I say they are UFO's. Dad thinks they are just objects launched from the missile testing base a few kilometres away, but he is a spoilsport. I therefore maintain that yes I have seen a UFO.

P.S. A this is my first comment just wanted to say that I love all your work and can not wait for this release.

  12. No I haven't although I think it would be very interesting to see one.

Looking forward to this book since I loved the first so much!

    Thanks for the great stories.

  32. Eeek!! So excited for this! I hope I can get it soon!!!

and you know... for a long time, I, of course believed in other being out there in this universe... It was just never driven home that it was truly real. It was just something. you know? But a few months ago, a few weeks before Borders announced they would be closing their doors, I was at a Borders in Woodland Hills. We were... i don't quite remember if we were leaving TO the car or GOING to borders from the car, but I saw this...... light, a few miles it seemed beyond the trees behind the little shopping center there. At first I was like, oh cool, a plane but then as we walked kinda closer I realized there was no noise from it. It was so silent. If it was a helicopter or a regular (any)type of plane.. there would ALWAYS be some sort of noise. but it was eerily silent. Second thing that set off my alarm.... it was hoovering. It wasn't moving. AT all. It was just... there.
And I mean... looked around to see if anyone else was seeing this shit, and it seemed like a group of friends across the street was but that was it... only about 6 people including me and my sister was seeing this... my sister and I walked closer, and NOTHING. no noise. just hoovering. and the light... I can honestly say that I have never seen that kind of light from our aircraft's. It was so bright. Stunningly clear and bright. I started feeling creeped out like.... Was I really seeing this?
I looked at my sister and asked... "are you seeing this?" she had this look of shock on her face and could only nod. Then, we started to walk closer to get any type of closer look at it, the light was so bright and it was just so silent... I wanted to see what this was. Was I seeing a regular plane. Or was this seriously a UFO?! finally I thought we were close enough to see... and I swear... the thing felt just the same distance as it was when we were across the parking lot. The light Just as bright. this... UFO, just as still and silent. Finally I told my sister. "C-Could this seriously be..." Before I could say UFO or anything of the sort... I low hum started, and then.. it started moving horizontally away from where we were... I was so scared... my heart beating so fast. Scared because, I kid you know, a few days prior to that, my sister and I had watched the movie The Fourth Kind.
oh.. yeah, we were going in then, cuz then I remember we were inside borders, and me and my sister laughed it off and just kinda... were like, "no way. it wasn't" we went on as we were. About half and hour to 20 mins later, we were done we were going back to the car...

  33. ......(cont..2)
And the light was still within sight!! It hadn't gone that far. and that low hum... it felt like it was inside. almost like how you feel the bass at a party vibrate inside your body, it was a low hum like that in and around you. my sister and I quickly walked to the car and drove in the direction the object was moving toward. Still so... eerily still... or not but moving so smoothly, gracefully that no plane of ours has. suddenly, almost as if realizing we were trying to get closer it sped up, since we were in the car the object going over residential areas and places we couldn't follow my sister said, just forget about it we're going home.
    So we did.
This is the first time I've said or posted this anywhere.
Could it have been? Did we have an encounter of the first kind? How was this light so clear and bright and yet, didn't give any sort of view on this object? How was this thing so silent? How was it hoovering? How did no one else seem to notice?

I still have so many questions... and i'm glad I've finally truly acknowledging it outside of only talking about this with my sister. Was this real? Do I seem crazy? I don't know.
all I know is that... we saw something that day. It wasn't threatening. I can say that what I felt looking at this light. this object. whether my own or I don't know... was... curiosity.
I think i'm scared of seeing something like this again but... Whatever we saw that day.. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

  34. Unfortunately I have no awesome story to tell because I've never seen a UFO. I blame the city lights because to be honest I haven't even seen the stars either since I last went camping let alone any unidentified flying objects lol

  35. It was in the summer time hot, mid afternoon. I was playing outside and I looked up and saw this thing just hovering between to mountains (lookout mountain In AZ) I literally sat on out fence and watch this thing just hover. My sisters friend came out and asked me what I was looking at and I pointed it to her, she was like wow. I was getting my bike and I was going to ride up and really see what was out there. Pam was totally against it. I turned around to argue to her and we hear this roar and look and its gone. Just puff gone. Damn. Honestly I really wanted to ride up to it and just say hi lol that was my idea.

  36. Congrats. I can't remember seeing one. My email is

  37. Hope I'm not to late? I've seen and heard some strange things in my 51yrs but I can't honestly say I've seen a UFO. A 1st glance it might stop me in my tracks but then I'll watch it and I'm able to confirm that's a plane.

    1. I emailed you, Chris. Please email me back!
