Quick Note

Okay...

Sounds serious, huh? Truth is I do have something serious to tell you guys, and I hope everyone understands. I just put the delete request in for my Greek Gods... and The Harvest.

This wasn't an easy decision to make, believe me. My plan was to leave each series up until right before it was published. But, after finding so many stories by Lit authors stolen and posted on another site I had to seriously reconsider that plan. Yes, I wasn't one of the authors stolen from... this time. And that's the problem. I dodged a bullet this go-around, I might not be so lucky next time. From the looks of things this deal with stealing stories isn't going away any time soon.

I hate having to do this, I really do. I've been kicking the idea around for a while, but been holding off doing anything. Then I found that site and that pretty much made my mind up.

I'm not pulling everything off Lit. And there will be more stories coming later. I still plan to do the young stories, too. Then there are the short stories on here that I plan to expand and post. The Yellow Rope will be the first one to post at Lit.

Believe me when I say this wasn't easy for me, and I hope you guys understand.

  1. Hopefully everyone does understand. I totally appreciate why you've had to do this, you've written such wonderful stories and it would be wrong if your hard work was stolen :( Just hurry up and publish them please lol x

Speaking as your editor, I, too, understand and wholeheartedly approve. That Literotica.com has nothing in place to prevent the kind of blatant theft that's occured recently is appaulling. Kudos and good luck to you, Darkling. You know I'm with you every step of the way!!

  3. I'm not going to complain but I will beg you to get them published cause I'm going to miss them. I can understand why you have to do this. I really hate the people who caused this whole problem in the first place.

    1. Priceless, Perfect and Pure will be the first series to be published. I had them with Republica Press-who is going out of business-so I have to start over and find another publisher for them.

*laugh* I haven't even started self-editing Harvest yet, and that's going to be a long deal.

Keep us updated as to when and where we can read anything you write.

  5. I guess I am sad as I am enjoying these stories very much. Will you be at another site? And I am a bit confused at your sentence :"Then I found that site and it pretty much made my mind up." Is that a site with stolen items or another site you would like to use?

Thanks for writing and I hope to keep following you one way or another. :) Intellectual property is as important as property you can touch. You certainly want to protect yourself.

    1. Hey! It's a site that had dozens and dozens of stories stolen from the GM section at Lit.

I'm not leaving Lit by any means; just for now on I won't put anything up I plan to publish. I hate doing that because I always got helpful feedback and ideas to improve the stories.

  6. I have to say I am so upset to see Dale and the gang go but what choice do you have!! You worked hard on these amazing stories and you would be crazy not to protect them! I am looking forward to seeing them published. Harvest is hands down my favorite story on lit because of the passion behind the characters. Looking forward to seeing them published and cannot wait for the young stories!!

    1. Thank you! Trust me, I'm not real happy with this, and the reason forcing me to do this.

  7. So super sad but I understand. Maybe there will be some way in the futur that you can have stories up in a rotating short term thing. The only thing is I would not post this on your lit profile. I know that you will want all of your readers to understand what is going on, but if whoever is oing this sees that you are pulling your stuff or will only have stuff around short term then that's just incentive for them to grab your stuff quicker. Maybe have just a quick note and a link to here. So super sad to see you go. You were on my repeat read comfort list. Get published, but please do an ereader I have a bargain w/ my hubby o more paper books for 3yrs. Ran out of room so it audio, Internet or ereader for me. Library too but the ones around here' are not very progressive.

    1. Hey! It'll be on ereader for sure. If anyting goes into print it would be The Harvest. Publishers that do release in print also release the book as an ebook. Harvest is the only thing long enough to qualify as a print book. Publishers that do release print books have a 60,000 to 100,000ish words count minimul and Harvest actaully goes over that, lol. I'll have to cut some just to make the maxium word count.

  8. Please never ever ever cut anything out of The Harvest! I love that story. It is on my repeat read list. I've read it too many times to count. Cutting it just be a shame.

  12. Wow no wonder all the good authors have totally disappeared from lit I mean I noticed that some of the stories where published and I bought them as soon as I found out but still many have just left no here's my website no I'm publishing this here they just left and it makes me so sad especially when I get emotionally attached to their stories like I did yours. I will miss harvest and I hope you get it published as soon as possible so I can add it to my kindle library lol. Good luck and don't forget I'll be looking 4 that book
