Feature and Follow Friday #1

TGI Friday, y'all! Here's something new, lol! The link is at the bottom. This is kinda like a blog hop.

~What hyped up book do you think was worth all the talk?

Fifty Shades of Grey . I've started reading this book and I have to say I'm liking it. And there is certainly a lot of hype around these books. :)

Hop on over to Parajunkee  and Alison Can Read to see more!

  2. Oh no! Say it ain't so! The author failed to even look at a map when she wrote that story. I got a few pages in, realized that fact, and put it down. If I'd have paid for it, I'd have been ticked. I do exhaustive research even when I write free stuff! If you set a book in RL locations, the least, the very least, you should do is know where they are on a map. I know maybe that makes me a story snob, but *shakes head* hype sometimes lies, lol.

  3. Hey girl, thanks for posting this! While I love dominating characters and a 50 shades type romance, I guess I had read hotter stories to begin with and was slightly jaded when it came to the actual sex/contract. It's a fun read if you're passing time, but I wouldn't put it up there on my top list. Enjoy it for what it is though. I did laugh at a couple of things and would recommend to 'beginners'. LOL If you know what I mean.

    Thanks for the post!!

  5. Hmmm I'd have to say I disagree! Fifty Shades was actually my answer last week...because I just couldn't get over the bad writing! I understand, though, how some people would love the story! Great answer :)

    Here's my FF!

  6. I am actually reading it right now too, so far I do like it but I am not that far in. So that could change.

  7. 50 Shades was definitely overhyped. It's really a romance with some kinky sex scenes. You absolutely have to read all three books, though, to get the whole story and too many people stop at the first.

  8. New follower here!

I haven't read this book, mainly because of the bad press on it.
I have no problem with sex and torture and the likes... heck, I've read too much Anita Blake for that, LOL... but I've heard there are major problems with the plot and writing.

  9. I read Fifty Shades a while back and I enjoyed it a lot. I have a fairly open mind about stuff and I try to take on a this is someone's baby outlook when I read a book. I certainly see the flaws in it though. The whole find me on a map thing is rather disturbing. Research is so important to a story. I need to believe what I am reading. If I can tell something obivous like location is going to take me out of the story. Its rather like me watching Days of Thunder. The things they do in that movie drive me BONKERS. I end up yelling things out like, What are you nuts?! They can't do that! Same idea here. As for the hotness factor, when I read these books I had not yet discovered the delicious world of M/M romance. Now that I have had a taste of that, everything else seems kind of bland. I have moments when I think, " Hey wait a minute, that doesn't go there!" Yes, I mean what you think I mean. It did give me a great idea for a tattoo though... I threatened to get a gray tie that is shaped like those magnets you see on cars that say support the troops and stuff like that... or my personal favorite, support road head. My poor mother turned fifty shades of red. :o)
