My Sexy Saturday - Trouble Comes in Threes

Happy Saturday and welcome to My Sexy Saturday! For this hop you post 7 paragraphs or 7 sentences or 7 words. It can be from a WIP or something published.

This week’s theme is Their Sexy Thoughts. When characters think about each other in a sexy, exciting way, we as readers adore them.As writers, we love putting those words down and getting them just right. We even love when those characters get into impossible situations and still, they think their significant other is the sexiest thing alive.

I thought I’d do something from my Dreamspinner release, Trouble Comes in Threes.

“I know.” Dolf cut his eyes at an older man who was staring at Tal. He narrowed his eyes, a warning to the human. The other man looked away. Tal, Dolf noticed, didn’t catch the byplay. He never did. “I guess we can get that since we’re here. That’ll save Dad a trip into town.”
“The saws are on another aisle. Let’s get that picked out, and then we can get the commode kit.”
Dolf picked out the saw he wanted, then followed Tal to another aisle. His mate pointed out the different kinds, but Tal’s words had rapidly faded into a meaningless buzz. There, on the air currents in the store, was the sweetest scent. It was light and flowery, reminding him of honeysuckle. He breathed deeply, taking the scent into himself. His cock hardened immediately and his head spun. A yowl threatened to escape.
That scent… that scent was seductive and alluring. It spoke to him, whispering things that made him need. His cat paced frantically in his mind, tail slashing madly. The need to pounce, to sink his canines in and drink that sweet, life-giving blood of his…. His gums tingled and saliva flooded his mouth.
He swallowed, then swallowed again as his head pounded, his heart rate spiking as one thought screamed through his mind: Mate! Another mate! Where was that scent coming from? Or who? And by the goddess, why? He already had a mate. What was their goddess thinking, giving him another? But he couldn’t ignore the reaction. It had been the same when he met Tal.
A quick glance down the aisle showed a fairly tall, forty-something human male who had a few strands of white in his short brown hair. He was muttering at commode kits. Dolf wanted to roll his eyes. Commode kits? Really? The same thing they were looking for? Their goddess must be having a high old time with this.
“Fuck,” he whispered softly. He rarely cussed, except when aroused. Nothing sent his mate whimpering faster than Dolf describing in frank detail how he planned to fuck Tal. He loved hearing Tal’s voice begging… and speaking of that, only then did he notice Tal had stopped talking. Not only had Tal stopped talking, but now he was growling. It was low, but it was a growl, a sound no human would make.

Chapter 4.3

The first scan finished. The light blinked, and a readout appeared on a monitor. Then the light blinked off, only to reappear as blue. Starting at the top of Varo’s head, the beam slowly made its way down his body, stopping to check repairs made to broken ribs, then later to a broken wrist.

A small beep sounded, and the beam continued its journey. Adlar studied the results on the monitor. He was relieved the broken bones had mended properly, and Varo was healthy.

“It’s a gods bedamned rock,” Varo snarled at Adlar through the glass of the chamber. “It’s maddening. The benefit to so many societies is unlimited.”

The refusal to allow any outside mining operations on the planet had caused several societies to become disgruntled. Unfortunately for those races, the Helkans were self-reliant and uninterested in trade treaties.

Adlar cocked his head. “Many? Or yours?”

Varo clenched his fists. “What does that matter? It’s a cheaper way to power the warp core on a starship. It would enable struggling planets to travel and trade.”

“But it’s funny, only your people declared war for it.”

“We needed access to that crystal so we can farther expand our exploration of space. Who knows what we could find out there? Your people have no right to refuse to share such a needed resource, Adlar.”

Adlar’s lips tightened. “This is not a debate on rights, and yes, we do. Shall I tell you what mining, especially unsupervised mining, can do?”

“Oh stars and curses, you act like mining is the worst thing ever,” Varo huffed.

“Environmental impact can include erosion, formation of sinkholes, loss of biodiversity, and contamination of soil, groundwater, and surface water by chemicals from mining processes. There’s also the forest logging that’s often done in the vicinity of mines to increase the available room for the storage of the created debris and soil.”

“But… but… the advantages!” Varo yelled.

“Besides creating environmental damage, the contamination that results from leakage of chemicals also affects the health of the local population. Biodiversity loss is a significant risk factor in business development, and a threat to long-term economic sustainability.”

“How do you know that for sure?”

“Oh for fracking sake, all you have to do is look at a mining planet. The evidence is there to see. No advantage is worth doing that to our planet!” Adlar yelled back. Noticing the looks he received from the technician, he took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. “Enough.”

A beep signaled the scan was completed.

“Come out, Varo.”

Varo stepped out and stood silently, his gaze examining the room, not speaking. It was a sterile room, nothing but white walls and equipment, but he’d noticed how Varo subtly noted everything.

Did Varo actually think he would ever have the chance to relay the information he gleaned? Adlar was almost tempted to disabuse him of that idea, but didn’t. Why tell him? Varo would eventually learn he was stuck here.

Once he logged the scan results, he faced Varo. “Time to go.”

Varo glanced around, nibbling his bottom lip. “May I ask where we’re going?”

“Home.” Adlar noted the unconscious gesture of nervousness. He’d bet Varo was unaware of the tell, and he was more than willing to make use of it.

Adlar rested his hand on the small of Varo’s back, encouraging him to walk toward the turbolift at the end of the hall. He felt Varo stiffen.

“And that would be where?” Varo asked.

“You’ll see.”

For a moment he thought Varo would jerk away, but he didn’t. The doors to the turbolift opened, and he allowed Varo to enter first. With a hiss, the doors closed. Varo immediately stood as far away as possible.

Adlar didn’t react, but it was close. He’d barely resisted the urge to jerk Varo closer to him. How dare he? If he wanted Varo on his knees next to him, then down the other male would go. One way or another. His body tensed, as if preparing to fight.

His fingers itched. He wanted to bury them in that long hair and…. Stunned at his reaction, he purposely made his muscles relax. He was close to pinning Varo in the corner and kissing him senseless. And that was just for starters.

Where had his valued control gone? As the leader of the D’noir, his control was better than most. Such a lapse was horrifying, and one he refused to allow again. In silence, they returned to the battle shuttle.

“Don’t have a personal shuttle?”

“Of course.” Adlar opened the battle shuttle’s door. “It’s at Command.”

Varo stopped at the door, mouth slightly hanging open. “Wait. You’re taking me to Command? You’re going to let me see—”

“Why shouldn’t I?”

“Well….”

Adlar nudged Varo inside and pointed to a bench in the middle of the shuttle. “Sit there, and strap in.”

Varo smirked. “Are you afraid to have me behind you?”

Adlar hiked an eyebrow at the challenge he saw in Varo’s face. “Are you needing a refresher course on how your collar works?”

Varo wiped the smirk off his face and sat. “No.”

“Good.” He checked the straps on Varo’s harness. “As far as you seeing our Command Center and its layout…. Well, why not? It’s not like you’re ever going to have a chance to share that information.” Adlar stared into Varo’s eyes “Nothing, short of death, will get you off this planet, princeling.”

Varo’s eyes widened, but he kept his mouth shut.

“And I plan to take very good care of you, just in case you think death is an option to escape me.”

Varo gasped. “I would never… To take one’s life is a grave insult to our gods. Life is precious.”

“Funny, we feel the same. I’m glad we share the same belief.” Satisfied, Adlar walked to the cockpit and strapped in.

They were soon they were on their way to Adlar’s private residents after a quick trip to Central.

Though the feelings are mutual, Orrin wants nothing to do with this and pushes Frankie away. Add in to the mix his fascination with partner Vance Morain along with his severe case of blue balls and you got one hell of a predicament for these for complex and volatile men. The men at nineteen are burning with desire for one another and pleasure is beginning to be almost as important as business.

Will the sinful disruptions stop them from finding the killer roaming the streets of the Big Easy?

“Good morning, Officer Daugherty.” A young male clerk behind the desk in the fitness center called out to him.
“Mornin.” Orrin nodded and kept going. He wondered if the glow from getting some was still on his face from the night prior or if he’d really caught the man’s eye as he hoped.
Either way, he had to admit he hadn’t felt this good in days—no, make that weeks. He’d slept, had sex, and a good breakfast when he finally rolled out of bed at two p.m. With all that going on, he felt he could get through just about anything, including work. Despite this, he was grateful to have the full day off until his next shift at four a.m. tomorrow.

In Enemy Hands 4.2

Chapter 4.2

He found the thought disturbed him. That wasn’t the only things that disturbed him. He let his hand drift up to Varo’s muddy locks. First thing he planned to do was get Varo cleaned. All his people had black hair, and he couldn’t wait to see the brilliance of Varo’s, once it was free of the mud.

Soon, he promised himself silently. He allowed himself one last touch then strode down the aisle, boots clicking on the floor, to the cockpit. Time to get his mind out of his pants and back on his responsibilities. Funny, but until now, that had never been a problem.

He sat and activated the command console.

Moments later they were airborne, but his mind was only half on the return trip. He knew better than to do this—distraction could get you killed, after all—but he couldn’t help himself. Luckily, unless the Yesri decided to test the collars all at once, not much demanded his attention as he flew. He’d made this trip millions of times.

No, what occupied his thoughts were those kisses they’d shared earlier. The explosion of passion had startled him. In all his other encounters, that had never happened. Just thinking about that tanned skin and blond hair had his cock reacting.

Even as desire flamed to life in him, so did revulsion. This was his enemy. If given the opportunity, the Yesri would rape his planet for its abundance of Black Phospolrock. He discreetly readjusted himself, a small mocking smile crossing his face.

At least he could take comfort in knowing the Yesri prince wasn’t any happier. As they flew through the darkened skies, he reached in his vest and removed the red sash. He could still smell the intriguing scent of Varo, even though his own scent was now included in the mix.

Their combined smell was pleasant—a blend of light airiness with undertones of darkness.  Adlar silently laughed at his thoughts. The sexy creature wearing his control collar was turning him into a romantic.

His mood plunged as he examined the thought. That could be dangerous.

There was no doubt Varo would gut him if given the chance. Fracking Yesri would probably enjoy it too. He’d have to be careful and not let his guard down, at least until he broke Varo. He shoved the unsettling thoughts back as they approached the capital city of El-Deiray.

Signaling Command, he informed them of his destination and status. The enormous palace entrance, carved directly into the sandstone, loomed before him. It was beautifully intimidating and an engineering marvel.

The hand carved detail and towering columns proclaimed an understanding of the surrounding habitat. While there were indeed jungles on Helkan, there were mountainous deserts and canyons too.

Bypassing the palace, he flew the shuttle to Holding Area One. Adlar landed the shuttle, and their prisoners were walked one-by-one to Intake. The plain white room was large, and contained a seating area and three separate chambers used for the scans.

This was where they checked prisoners for hidden weapons and existing health issues. Their stats and fingerprints were then logged into the database.

A flurry of whispers greeted them as they walked the cold gray hallways.

“—fracking Yesri’s should be—”

“That many got through?”

“—such tanned skin, I didn’t know they were so—”

“One has brown eyes!”

“—only their royalty have that color eyes, right? How interesting.”

“He’s not royalty now.”

“—what an odd hair color. It’s so light and—”

“Should have just killed them and been done with it.”

The Yesri prisoners were certainly making an impression, and not all of it good from what he heard. The last remark earned the speaker a glare. The other Helkan blanched, quickly lowering his eyes. Satisfied he’d made his point, Adlar turned his attention to the scanning process.

One unit hour later, it was finally their turn. The other warriors had left with their prisoners. The room had quieted now that it was just them and the technician.

Adlar pointed to the chamber that would scan for weapons or explosives. “In you go.”

Varo frowned at the chamber. “All of our weapons were disabled when we went through the SSN, as you well know.”

“True, but you could have imbedded explosives.” Adlar shrugged. “Not likely since your mission wasn’t to invade, just monitor. I also can’t see your king rigging you, or any one near you, with explosives.”

Varo rubbed the bridge of his nose, a strangled laugh escaping. “Don’t be so sure of that.”

Interesting. That’s something that definitely needs to be explored. “Then he’s a fool. Now, step inside the chamber. The scan is painless, and once cleared, another scan will commence. That one checks for health issues.”

“I’m healthy too. I’ve had regular scans since I was born.”

“Lucky you. From what I’ve heard, the health care provided to the poor on your planet is worthless.”

“And of course yours is better.” Varo stepped into the chamber.

“We all receive the same benefits, and everyone has access to all services. So yes, ours is better.”

Varo snorted. “Right. Your lowest class—which is probably your slaves—receives the same care as you and your brother, the king?”

“Indeed, they do.” The chamber door closed, shutting Varo inside. Adlar flipped a switch on the control panel so they could continue speaking. “And for your information, there aren’t that many slaves here. Most races respect our desire to be left alone—unlike your people who declared war on us for a resource you wanted even after being told no.”

Black Phospolrock crystals regulated reactions between matter and antimatter. When matter and antimatter came into contact, they annihilated—or converted directly into enormous quantities of energy needed to drive the warp core used by starships and other massive generators.

Before the discovery of  Black Phospolrock, diamonds were used to regulate matter/antimatter annihilation, and the cost was prohibitive for many societies.

Varo stood still as the scan started. “Because your king’s reaction was ridiculous. You’re sitting on practically an endless supply of the cursed crystals. They’re cheaper to buy and much more of a stable regulator. It’s the perfect alternative. Or it would be if you Helkans would just agree to share the massive deposit located on your planet. Instead, you refuse access to the crystals.”

The crystals were indeed a cheap source of energy. The crystals could also be used with the electric generator grids that powered many cities on various planets.

“We have that right, Varo. It is our planet.”

Book Name: Copping An Attitude

Book 2 in the series. Can be read as a standalone.

Author Name: Morticia Knight

Author Bio:
M/M Erotic Romance author Morticia Knight enjoys a good saucy tale – after all, who doesn’t? Since she loves several genres, you may find your heroes in a contemporary, historical, paranormal or sci-fi setting. One of her passions is bringing people's fantasies to life on the page, because life is too short for even one boring moment. Her stories are volcanic in heat, deep in emotion, and sprinkled with doses of humor.

When not indulging in her obsession for books, she loves the outdoors, film and music. The Pacific Northwest is the ideal spot to enjoy both hiking and beachcombing. Once upon a time she was the singer in an indie rock band that toured the West Coast and charted on U.S. college radio. She now resides on the northern coast of Oregon, where the constant rain and fog remind her of visits to family in England and Scotland when she was a child.

She is currently working on the Sin City Uniforms Series and a BDSM spin-off to the Gin & Jazz series entitled The Hampton Road Club. A follow-up to Bryan and Aubrey’s story in Rockin’ the Alternative will also be available in 2015 through Totally Bound Publishing.

It’s another typical night on the Strip when Parker comes across Slade. His heart breaks every time he sees someone so young being exploited. Something in Slade’s eyes tells Parker the young man might be in real trouble though – especially after the recent spate of sex worker killings from a rival prostitution ring.
The two men’s lives become intertwined when Slade is almost beaten to death. The danger grows, but so does the relationship between Parker and Slade. Parker helps Slade to heal from the horrific attack and their bond deepens. But the human traffickers are still out there - and they’re still looking for Slade.

Excerpt:
As soon as Julio faced Slade again, Slade saw Valeena flip Julio off behind the enraged pimp’s back as she stomped out. He averted his gaze, terrified that Julio might catch her. Slade had encountered countless moments with Julio when the man was angry or upset, but the way he was currently behaving was even more terrifying than he could ever remember witnessing before.
Julio advanced toward him and grabbed his jaw, squeezing hard enough that Slade’s lips pursed out, hurting him.
“What did you say to him, you little fuck? Huh? What gave him the idea that the two of you were gonna run off into the sunset together?”
Julio thrust him away in seeming disgust and Slade fell back on the bed. The way Julio paced frantically in small circles on the area rug did nothing to reassure Slade that he was out of harm’s way yet. His would-be boss was obviously tweaking.
“Five grand.” Julio threw his hands in the air. “Is he out of his fucking mind?”
One of Julio’s rants had begun. When he got like that, he didn’t want answers. Didn’t want comments. All he required was a captive and frightened audience. As Julio shook his hands out, twitched his head repeatedly and kept marching about the room, Slade slid back, scooted farther away. It was pointless to do such a thing—his logical mind told him that. But he still wanted the illusion of distance. Of safety.
“If I were gonna sell you to someone, I’d make real bank. Fuck. It’s tempting too. You’re still pretty young. I bet I could get a hundred grand for you easy from someone overseas.”
Oh Jesus. Oh fuck.
“Maybe more, I dunno. Never done it before, but I met a guy last month, some foreign fucker who knew about that kinda shit.” Julio snorted. “I should quit with this pussy street shit and get in with some real homies. Guys who know how to make fat stacks.”
Julio paused in his frenetic pacing and narrowed his eyes at Slade. “Is that how you went out tonight? Like that?”
He shook his head wildly, suddenly unable to push air out of his lungs to speak.
“Well?”
“Um…” He cleared his throat, his heart hammering. “I… I showered when I came back then changed.”
Julio sneered at him. “I hope you didn’t have that baggy T-shirt on. Where are my clothes? Huh? I better not fucking find them in a pile on the floor somewhere. I paid a lot for that shit.”

Yeah. Out of the money I earned.
