Thursday book recommendation

These are books I’ve read and really enjoyed. Most of what I talk about will probably be paranormal/scifi but not always. Although it’s rare, I do read some contemporary.

This week is: Fallocaust (The Fallocaust Series Book 1) by Quil Carter

(WARNING: Very dark. Very depraved. Twisted. Gory. Traumatic. If you have triggers, this is *not* the book for you because damn near every horrible situation you can think of is explored in this. Take this warning seriously. (This is in my top five most disturbing books.))

Blurb:

Over two hundred and thirty years ago the Fallocaust happened, killing almost everything that lived and creating what is now known as the greywastes. A dead wasteland where cannibalism is a necessity, death your reality, and life before the radiation nothing but pictures in dog-eared magazines.

Reaver is a greywaster, living in a small block controlled by a distant ruler said to have started the Fallocaust. He is a product of the savage world he was raised in and prides himself on being cold and cruel. Then someone new to his town catches his eye, someone different than everyone else. Without knowing why he starts to silently stalk him, unaware of where it will lead him.

Tuesday Teaser

Excerpt from Frost's Bite, book #3 in the Mystic Bay series.

Once Nicholas was done, he paused, his hands on his hips. Nonchalantly he glanced around the area, watching Hunter’s wolves working. Jonas could see the werewolves were sweating. Many of them had not bothered to wear jackets, which wasn’t surprising since they tended to run hot, and had tugged off their shirts even.

Frowning, Nicholas raised a hand. As Jonas watched, blue sparks rose from Nicholas’s hand. They swirled, gaining in strength. A few wolves stopped what they were doing, their gazes on the man with magic sparking from his fingers. Jonas saw the wolves’ unease.

Power rose, silent and cold, whirling out from Nicholas. A breeze swept the area where the wolves worked—and only that area—bring cool relief. No one moved, then finally a wolf whistle softly. Another shut his mouth with a snap then nudged the guy next to him. Someone applauded quietly.

Waves of energy danced around Nicholas, teasing the loose white stands of hair around his face, lifting them. His braid danced in the air, fluttering around him.

Holy goddess, Jonas was uncomfortable too, but not for the reason the wolves were. The man was sexy as hell. He flipped switches Jonas didn’t even know he had. He shifted uncomfortably as his jeans tightened. Half hard, his cock pressed against his zipper.

Welcome to Pucker Up Monday. It's not what you think, lol. Since Mondays do tend to suck, I though I'd try to start the week off right for y'all.

Thursday book recommendation

This week is: Psycho Romeo by Jocelynn Drake and Rinda Elliott

Blurb:

Geoffrey Ralse is known for being the life of the party.

He loves the club scene, hanging with his friends, and flirting with whomever catches his eye. He certainly isn’t going to stop living his life just because some would-be stalker starts sending him threats.

But it all changes when Geoffrey is drugged and wakes up half naked in his own home with a new message from his stalker

He needs help and there’s only one person he trusts…

Bodyguard Sven Larsen has been fighting Geoffrey’s flirtatious advances for months, even though he’s impossibly drawn to the man. There’s no way he can be around him twenty-four/seven and not finally crack.

But one look at Geoffrey’s haunted eyes, and he knows there’s no way he’s letting Geoffrey walk out of Ward Security without him.

Even if it means breaking his own rules, he will keep Geoffrey safe.

The Ward Security Series is a spin-off of the Unbreakable Bonds Series.

Trigger warning: There is a very short section with sexual assault that some could find upsetting.

Thursday Book Recommendation

These are books I’ve read and really enjoyed. Most of what I talk about will probably be paranormal/scifi but not always. Although it’s rare, I do read some contemporary.

This week is: The Bastille Sphere by Leona Windwalker

Blurb:

The Bastille Sphere: a penal colony being developed by Harmony Inc. Entry is one way only, with no way out. It's supposed to be for habitual reoffenders and the worst violent offenders.

River knew there was a chance that he and his brother would fall behind on the loan they took out to cover their mother's medical bills and funeral. He never expected Harmony to call in the debt under the Debtor's Prison Act. He certainly wouldn't have believed that they'd send him to Bastille to become a gladiator's prize.

Leyland knew just how corrupt Harmony was. Eager to populate their colony, they used the system to grab anyone they thought wouldn't be missed. If they qualified for gladiator training, it was a bonus, as the broadcast games added to the revenue the colony brought in.

The prize: A fight to the death with the winner gaining his parole. He couldn't leave Bastille, but would gain a modicrum of freedom, including his own home behind the walls of the Compound outside of the prison grounds, and be gifted with a mate. It was a win/win as far he was concerened. Leyland would either be freed by death at last, or he'd win and gain as normal a life as Bastille offered.

If only it was that easy.

Tuesday Teaser

“Okay. I’m going to get on the road since it takes the better part of an hour to get home. Later!” Mick tossed over his shoulder as he left.

Mick should be glad Nicholas hadn’t traveled further. Narathon was indeed an hour away from Mystic Bay, which was nothing for someone who came all the way from Russia to take care of business. Nicholas finally heard the distant roar of Mick’s truck starting and shook his head. For someone who didn’t like attention, Mick certainly drove a loud vehicle.

Speaking of things demanding attention, he once more tugged his cell out, unlocked it, and pulled up the calendar. No wonder Mick’s reactions drew his attention… and that insidious need Nicholas despised. It had been six months since the last time.

Nicholas swallowed heavily. He’d hoped for a bit more time before he was forced to take care of the problem, but it didn’t look like time was on his side. His hand tightened, and he purposely relaxed his hold. No point crushing his cell, even if he was annoyed. Better to feed that need now than wait for to it became uncontrollable.
