Love Wins Anthology is up for pre-order

The Love Wins Anthology is up for pre-order! My story, Cats and Christmas Trees: Trouble Waiting to Happen is part of it. This short is from Trouble Comes in Threes and has Kirk, Tal, and Dolf in it!

What’s a half human to do when Christmas rolls around? Well, he tries ignores it, but his shifter mates, being the sneaky kitties that they are, persist in finding out what’s troubling him. Kirk doesn’t want to admit he’s down in the dumps because Christmas is approaching and werecats don’t celebrate that holiday.

But Kirk’s mates, Dolf and Tal, surprise him. They might not worship the human god, but that doesn’t mean they can’t make the holiday work for the three of them. Tal comes up with the idea of having a party the night before Christmas, but only inviting the betas and their Alpha. Remi, Heller, Aidric, Brier, and Alpha Armonty all take part in Secret Santa. Laughter abounds as they play the game. And of course, no werecat gathering is complete without lots and lots of food.

After the party is over, and the cleanup is done, the real fun starts when Dolf and Tal finally give in to their kitty natures, shift… and target the tree Kirk put up. Fortunately Kirk had the foresight not to buy anything breakable. There’s nothing funnier than watching a cat in a Christmas tree, except for maybe two. So how does Kirk go about getting his mates out of the tree? Well, he may not be natural born shifter, but this half human knows how to deal with his feline mates.

Cats aren’t the only sneaky ones in this triad. ;)

Stories drive life. Sometimes life is good; sometimes life is bad. But it’s the nature of our community that in the aftermath of an act of hatred, we respond with love. Because darkness cannot exist in the presence of light. Cruelty cannot stand against compassion. Negativity will never overcome hope.
To show our support for those affected by the Orlando shooting, our authors, editors, artists, and staff have volunteered their talents to create this anthology. All proceeds will be donated to LGBT organizations in central Florida. Join us as we celebrate the triumph of love over every obstacle.

My Love Wins Anthology story was accepted!

So I got the word tonight that my story, Chasing Tyme, will be included in the Love Wins Anthologies to benefit the victims and families of the Orlando shooting. There will be two
volumes: Summer 2016 and Holiday 2016. Money raised will be donated to the PULSE VICTIMS FUND through Equality Florida.

My story is just a little bit shy of 10K, which was the maximum word limit. It's also contemporary and it has a new couple. I really like these guys. Maybe later down the road I can take the story and expand it. I hope so because these two still have things to say. Oh, and that title? Tyme is indeed spelled correctly. It's spelled that way for a reason. 0.o

I don't know exactly when the first anthology will be released, but I think it's going to be some time near the end of the summer. I certainly heard back quickly, and Dreamspinner usually takes up to eight weeks to issue a contract.

As soon as I hear something, I'll let you guys know. :)

#PrayforOrlando and how to help

The swag giveaway is HERE

(CNN)Hundreds of people have answered the call, waiting in line to give blood to help the victims in the Orlando, Florida, terror attack, the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

So many that OneBlood, the local blood bank, met its needs for Sunday, according to Pat Michaels, a spokesman who spoke to CNN affiliate WFTV.

But the organization will need blood in the coming days, especially for the rarer types -- O negative, O positive and AB plasma, says Michaels.

You can help the victims with monetary donations, as well. Equality Florida, a nonprofit LGBT civil rights organization, has set up a GoFundMe account for the victims and their families. Equality Florida spokesperson Ida Vishkaee Eskamani says all of the money donated will go the relatives. The initial goal was $500,000 which was met in just hours. Now the goal is $1 million. "We've gotten responses from folks all over the world," says Eskamani.

The global nonprofit organization Planting Peace has set up a site for donations on CrowdRise. The money donated will help cover the funeral and medical costs of the victims. The goal is $100,000.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said that relatives of victims who need information can call a special hotline at (407) 246-4357.

Impact Your World will continue to look for ways you can help.

On this very difficult day, so many of us offer heartfelt condolences to today’s victims and their families. Many are working tirelessly to get as much information out to the families so they can begin the grieving process. Please keep the following individuals in your thoughts and prayers. #PrayforOrlando
