The Cool, Cool Water

Cody stood on the bank staring at the lake.  The day was so damn hot and humid. His tank shirt was wringing wet and his cut-off blue jean shorts were damp around the waist. He was sweaty and would give anything to just strip off and jump in the water.
He and his partner, Alex, had just finished the new deck they’d planned months ago. It was right on the bank of the lake they lived on and there was no one for miles in either direction. Alex had shed his shirt long ago.
“What are you thinking?” Alex asked with a smirk on his face.
“Nothing.”
“That’s a bunch of crap and you know it.” Alex had seen the way Cody eyed the cool water. “Go for it. You know you want to.”
“Better not, someone might see.”
To say Cody was shy was like saying the night was black. Alex knew he wouldn’t go skinny dipping… without a little help. Alex grinned. A little under six feet and one hundred sixty pounds, Cody had a nice athletic build, but it was nothing compared to Alex’s husky frame. A hair over six feet, Alex outweighed Cody by fifty pounds. And it was all muscle.
Time to have a little fun.
Alex moved behind Cody, who still stood staring at the water. Yearning was written all over his face. Alex’s arms came around Cody and fastened onto the neck of his tank. With a hard yank, he split the shirt down the middle.
“What the hell are you doing?” A quick battle raged over the torn shirt but Alex came away the winner.
“Giving you want you want.” Alex stalked Cody, backing him towards the water.
“I wanted my shirt torn off me?” Cody glanced behind him. The water was only a few feet away. “Think you spent too much time in the sun, lover. We should go in.”
“Oh, we’re going in, all right. Just not the ‘in’ you mean,” Alex said as he eyed those tight blue jean shorts.
Those damn shorts were sinfully short and frayed at the bottom. Every time Cody bent over to pick something up Alex had to talk himself out of nailing Cody right then and there. For the last hour he had been in a state of constant arousal. He was lucky he hadn’t shot himself in the foot with the nail gun. One way or another, those shorts were coming off.
“What…?” Cody finally caught the look in Alex’s eyes. Or more like where his eyes were trained. “Oh no. No, no, no, we are not going to… Shit!”
Alex tackled Cody, making sure to take the brunt of the fall as they dropped to the grassy bank. Amidst a tangle of arms and legs—and screaming laughs—he relieved Cody of the shorts. The only things Cody had on now were his underwear, shoes and socks. He was also sporting an erection and a nice blush covered his face.
“Remove them, or I will.”
“Alex,” Cody snorted with laughter under the body covering his, “you maniac, I refuse. Let’s go inside. We’re going to get arrested!”
“Had your chance.” Alex removed the rest of Cody’s clothes, enjoying the kicks and screams that echoed around him.
“Score one for me!” Alex shouted as he twirled Cody’s underwear on his finger. “Now for my prize.”
He threw an arm across Cody’s hips and lowered his head. Taking Cody’s dick into his mouth, he nibbled around the crown of his cock. Cody grunted and his struggles lessened. Precum dripped steadily from that tiny opening. Alex’s tongue stabbed at the opening, wanting more as he used his other arm to push Cody’s legs open.
Not wasting a second, he swallowed Cody’s dick to the root. He bobbed his head up and down, stroking the thick vein that ran the length of Cody’s shaft.  With a moan of capitulation, Cody spread his legs wider as Alex worked his hard dick. Pressure built as Cody’s dick throbbed in his mouth.
“Oh god, oh god… yes, suck me.”
An ache spread through his balls, a tingling that signaled Cody was close. Cody’s hands twisted in Alex’s hair as he thrust into Alex’s mouth. Alex slipped a finger into his mouth and soon a wet fingertip teased around Cody’s hole. His body arched, his back leaving the grassy blanket he lay on as Alex’s finger entered him.
He moaned around the dick in his mouth, Cody’s channel was hot and tight. Desperate now Cody thrust back against Alex’s finger. Sucking hard as he came up Cody’s shaft, he curled his finger and searched for Cody’s hot spot. This time the moan came from Cody as Alex rubbed his hot spot hard.
“Jesus, Alex, I’m going to come.”
Cody’s dick swelled in his mouth and Alex sucked eagerly. He knew his lover was about to come. The hand across Cody’s hips slid up and pinched a nipple. With a hoarse yell Cody came hard in Alex’s mouth. Alex swallowed everything Cody had to give then laid his head on Cody’s leg, his chest heaving.
“I’m dead. Really. You sucked all the life out of me. I didn’t even get to enjoy the deck we built.”
Alex grinned against Cody’s leg. “You can’t die yet, you still haven’t cooled off.”
“What…?”
Alex jumped up, and pulled Cody to his feet. With a leer he threw Cody over his shoulder and waded out into the lake.
“Don’t you… Cody shouted as he was thrown into the water.
Moments later he surfaced. Cody’s back was to Alex. The water lapped at that tight ass as Cody ran his hand though his wet hair. Alex stripped out of his wet clothes as he watched Cody. Damn, his man was fine; shy, yes, but damn fine.
He waded out in the water, enjoying the view as Cody splashed water on his body. His skin glistened in the sunlight. Alex’s hard-on had deflated when he hit the water but it was coming back full strength now. He loved the man in front of him more than life and he planned to show him… in his own special way.
“I’m going to count to ten. If you stay here in the water I’m going to fuck you right here, with or without lube. Or you can—”
“But, but, but…”
“That’s right, that butt is going to be mine. Or you can take off to the house. You might get inside before I catch you. So, bed or water. You choose.”
Cody stood there with his mouth hanging open.
“One… I’m not kidding, lover.”
“Oh damn!” Cody yelled as he splashed through the water toward the bank—and the house.
“Two…”
Alex grinned as he watched that muscular ass run for the house. What a perfect way to finish the afternoon.

Quick Note...

Okay, have a wild idea here. I'm thinking of doing an interview with Dale from The Harvest. Any of you want to send me a question to ask Dale? It could be about anything you have ever wanted to know. If this has a good turn out I plan to do it for all the characters.

So, let's see. Let's say Feb 7th is the cut off date for questions. That will give me plenty of time to write up the interview, get it edited and post it the following weekend. :)

Post the question on here if interested!

Nonhuman characters

How many times have I tried to write about two normal guys and ended up with writers block? I'm beating my head against the nearest wall in frustration because I'm stuck and the story is going nowhere fast. But then I throw a nonhuman character off in the mix... and watch that baby go! The story almost writes itself.

*shakes head*

To date I've managed to write one story that revolved around two normal guys. The story was Priceless. And through that story I had to beat Cupid over the head with a stick to keep him from taking over, lol. I ended up giving the little imp his own just to shut him up. Of course that didn't stop him from bugging me. Then Morpheus showed up and the fun continued, lol.

I've written about vampires, Greek Gods, the Angel of Death and space aliens. By the way, Dale and the gang said hey, lol. I have other things in the works with werewolves, mermen, alien with tentacles... a ghost floating around, lol. That's just to name a few. Oh yeah, and the young stories!

Why are some of us so... interested in nonhuman? Okay, the word obsesses came to mind, lol. I'll be the first to admit I'm obsessed! Is it the fangs? The moans and gasps of the intended victim as the vamp's teeth pierce the skin to drink? Is it the sexy werewolf that goes all alpha on his mate who begs for it harder?

Is it the abnormal strength some of these characters' have, and other abilities, us humans don't? That tail that can wiggle into the most interesting places, lol? Those big sexy wings? Then, of course, there's the romance and the hot m/m sex. LOL, goes without saying, right?

*fans self*

I don't know. But I do know that nonhuman is so much easier for me to write. I couldn't tell you which nonhuman character is a fav of mine; I like them all. Thank goodness there are plenty of folks out there like me that love this stuff, too!

TGI Friday

Here it is Friday again, and the weekend! Yay! Another week over and done. Hope everyone had a good week, but if you didn't... I have a treat for you. ;)

I found this while looking around and immediately thought how romantic it was. Two guys locked in a passionate embrace, low soft light, alone in what looks like their own little word... *sigh* It caught my attention and held it. There's a sweetness to it that I really liked.

Sometimes we need a little gentleness in our lives especially when things might not be going so well. We all have our ups and downs, but the downs can really, really suck sometimes. People, no matter who they are in connection with our life, can be hurtful. So for any of you that took a beating this week... *hugs* and I hope this beautiful picture will bring a smile to your face for a minute.

Always keep in mind that next week is a fresh start. :)

TGI Friday!

*Laugh* though really, don't know why I would say that since I no longer work. But hey, I remember getting up before the sun to get ready. I had to be to work before 7am. And oh joy, I smoke. Yes, I know... nasty, harmful habit. That's another can of worms-and my battle with stopping-for another day, lol. Anyway, I couldn't smoke at my job. Except for the activity break I was surrounded by five and six year olds all day.

By 3pm I was give out and ready to go home. Then my second job started... You may know what I'm talking about here. Cooking dinner, doing homework with the kids, trying to clean up the house a little, getting baths, spend time with the hubby, run this kid to that activity, attend school functions... the list was endless.

Well, all that has changed now. I no longer work, and yes, I'm lucky. The kids are nearly grown and I'm not needed every second of the day. They both drive so I'm no longer playing taxi. I'm enjoying being a 'stay at home mom' as they call it.

Now that I'm writing this got me to thinking: How would I have handled writing if I still worked? How does the authors I know who *do* work deal with it? An hour here and hour there... dear god, it can take me an hour to get half a page in Word if my muse isn't working with me. *Smacks muse on the ass.*

Sometimes that works, lol. Most times he just likes it.

So, I recently read an article on this and here's what I got from it:
(1) Take 10 minutes to write every day. Even if something comes up you feel like you got something done. Well, I write nearly every day now, and miss it when I don't.
(2) Get a notebook or use a digital device. This way you're ready when an idea hits. This is something I do, too. Short term memory only retains info for a short time. Yes, I've scratched idea's down in the middle of Wal-Mart, lol.
(3) Get in touch with other writers and talk about ideas. You never know what may get the old juices going, lol. One word may get you over that hump.
(4) Once a week read over something you've written either by yourself or with someone. This can spark interest. Okay, check, I've done that, also! I often do it cause I need a break from what I'm writing on.

I don't know if they would have worked for me back then. There were days I fell in bed at 8pm, lol. It seems to me getting in a routine is the most important thing though.

So... for those of you that work and do this, you have my utmost respect, guys!

Echoes in writing

Find yourself re-using words and phrases too often in your manuscript? http://mysterywritingismurder.blogspot.com/2012/01/eliminating-echoes-in-our-writing.html

I found this article on my Facebook from Write It SideWays. Boy, did that article have my name written all over it, lol. I didn't know re-using words had a name, but it does. It's called echoes and the name makes a lot of sense. I have to say I'm bad about doing this. Like someone from the article said it may have to do with writing in chunks. But we all do that.

And I do read over what I've written from before, but not several pages back! There are times I do catch that a character has 'strode' a lot, lol, but other times I don't. After reading this I will be keeping an eye on things. *Grin* and seeing how much a character is 'striding' around, lol. Anyway, I thought I'd share this for anyone interested. :)

Happy Friday the 13th!

Superstition is a belief in supernatural causality: that one event leads to the cause of another without any process in the physical world linking the two events.

This is according to Wikipedia.

So... Happy Friday the 13th, lol. Honestly I never considered myself superstitious before. I never avoided black cats, or worried about if the 13th fell on a Friday and what not. Then I started to write and found that I was, indeed, a bit superstitious.

*Laugh* Imagine my surprise! It's why I won't say what the book is I've sent to RP, my publisher. I don't want to jink it, lol. Never mind that my editor will either like it or she won't... never mind that I think it's good... a overwhelming urge says keep it on the down low until I know for sure. Don't jinks it.

Where did this come from all the sudden??? Is it because I'm getting older? Or is it tied to me writing? I really have no idea. But then again, I've often joked about my weird luck. My motto is if something funky can happen... it will damn well will happen to me!

Well. Okay then, seems like I'm superstitious! It's Friday the 13th and I'm going to avoid stepping on any cracks and throw some salt over my shoulder (isn't that for luck, lol?) and hope that the day goes good. Can't hurt, right? So what if I look foolish dancing across this tile floor!

For those of you that are a bit superstitious, like me, here's hoping the day goes fast, at least.

*Grin*

Take care you guys,

And here I go!

Well, I think I have this up and running now. I have some stuff I want to add, but I'm still figuring this out, lol. So here's what's going on...

I'm working on a m/m tentacle story for an open call with a another publisher right now. Never done a tentacle story before and I'm finding out it's a lot of fun... and work, lol. Bad thing is this publisher won't take anything that's been put out there before so I won't be able to post bits of it. BUT... I can tell y'all that 12 pages in it's taking on a very def scifi twist.

It's a creature, not some blob type thing, and the creature has been watching this guy for a while now. The tentacles are on his head and he makes use of them later. *wink, wink*  Seems like I've wondered into the scifi world again! The deadline is at the end of March. Hopefully they'll take it for the anthology they're publishing. I'll let y'all know what happens with it.

I'm also waiting to hear from my publisher about something I sent to them. Don't want to say what right yet, don't want to jinks it, lol. Never knew I was superstitious until now. Fingers crossed they take it.

I have a Valentine's story I was doing for Lit but it's looking like that won't get done in time. I hate that cause I had big plans for the singing dildo! *smirk* Plus the follow up to Kiss Me Deadly has been put on hold for the time being, too. I do have ch 1 on that, but don't want to post it then leave it hanging. I'm taking a short break from Lit but I do have things planned for Lit.

I'll be back... lol, as the terminator says.

Hello!

Hey everyone! Well, I've set this up, now got to learn how to use it, lol!
